Hi, I’m Sharon Landon, the force behind all that is at Landon Creative.

Back in January, I wiped out my old Flash-based website and switched over to WordPress. I was almost ready to launch in March.

And then I pulled the plug.

After focusing solely on graphic design and illustration work for twenty years, for the past five, I have lived the life of a multi-passionate creative — brand stylist, designer, writer, mixed-media artist, photographer, sculptress, and the most recent addition, jewelry designer.

I pulled the plug on all of the work I had previously done because of an epiphany I had while standing on a sidewalk in the midst of a light snowstorm in Brooklyn, New York’s trendy gallery district, DUMBO (Down Under the Manhattan and Brooklyn Overpasses). I decided then and there that I would no longer place silly rules and limitations on myself. This was because for the first time in my entire life, I felt that I could

  • totally be myself — the real and authentic me — not the someone others expected me to be in order to balance their own insecurities,
  • do whatever I wanted in relation to my art and design works without someone else resenting the path that chose me,
  • go to or live wherever I wanted — as long as it served future me.

I realized that my website needed to represent this new found freedom to expand and explore, and it just wasn’t doing that for me as designed.

This, of course, presented a bit of a problem as to how to gracefully house all of these things that I do on a single website. I wrestled with it for the longest because I didn’t want to look like one of those “flaky artist-types” who couldn’t decide what she wanted to do, because I actually did know exactly what it was I wanted. I knew these weren’t hobbies, they were all proven, multiple streams of income for my business. Starting over, I went into renewed conservation with a few trusted advisors, and I’m excited to say that a solution I am happy with is finally coming together.

I am especially thrilled to be able to offer these additional passion projects of fine art and jewelry to you under this one URL. Response to these works on social media has been extremely encouraging, and I look forward to making it easier for collectors to make their purchases through the addition of an online store. And the freedom that will come from maintaining only one blog for all of these is the absolute icing.

Here’s a sneak peek of part of the new landing page design…

Thank you for your continued patience as I get everything customized into this single beautiful space. It is designed to best suit your needs while also clearly defining all that I have to offer. My customers deserve nothing less than my best efforts, and that’s exactly what you will get. In the meantime, you can check me out on Social Media to see what all I’m up to (and thanks in advance for the follow):
